This explains what Smart Obs collects about you, why, and what you can do about it. Smart Obs is made by PoGy, who is responsible for this data.
What we collect
- Your account: email address and password. The password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form; nobody can read it, us included. We also keep when the account was created, when you last signed in, and your plan.
- Bug reports you send: your message, the contact you choose to add, and, if you leave the box ticked, technical details such as your Windows version, app version and the folders the app uses.
Smart Obs has no ads, no tracking and no analytics, and we never sell your data. Your settings, campaths and sign-in session stay on your own PC.
Why
- To run your account and let you sign in (the agreement between us).
- To fix problems you report and to keep the service free of abuse (our legitimate interest).
- To tell you about important changes, such as the end of early access.
Who else handles it
- Supabase hosts the accounts and the database.
- Resend delivers the confirmation and notice emails.
- GitHub serves app updates, so it sees your IP address when the app checks for one.
They process data only to provide their service to us. Some of them may store data outside the EU, protected by the EU’s standard contractual clauses.
How long
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Bug reports are kept until the problem is dealt with, and at most two years.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it along with your account. You can also object to how it is used. Ask through Report a bug in the app. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Czech data protection authority (ÚOOÚ, uoou.cz) or the one where you live.
Cookies
Smart Obs is a desktop app and uses no tracking cookies. It only keeps what it needs to work, such as your sign-in session, on your own PC.
